Airfox announces internal promotions and new additions to the Boston-based team
After a year of hard-work, platform growth, and learning, Airfox is proud to announce internal growth within the team. Four employees have been promoted within the organization to now join the executive team at Airfox, in addition to Victor Santos (CEO), Gustavo Riberio (President, Brazil), Emanuel Moecklin (Chief Technology Officer), and Luke Bayas (VP of Engineering).
Internal promotions
Justin Hoffman, Executive Vice President
Justin joined the team in March, getting up to speed quickly and leading the team into various high-profile partnership meetings in Brazil. Since then, Justin has been running on all cylinders bringing analytics into the center of everything at Airfox, redefining the level of professionalism in work quality, and pushing to a close the recently announced partnership with Via Varejo. Justin came to Airfox with experience from DoorDash and Credit Suisse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Pablo Bello, Chief Product Officer
Pablo has been with the company since November 2017. Since starting with Airfox, he has brought order and vision into the Airfox app, focusing on growing the product and support teams, while adding structure to product development. Pablo has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and led product teams for a wide range of Boston-based startups, from meat delivery to alcohol delivery.
Katie Sedat, VP of Marketing
Katie is the most versatile member of the Airfox team, building and structuring the Airfox brand from the ground up while reliably improving product quality and implementing analytics into the app. Since starting with Airfox in October 2017, Katie has developed the Airfox mission and made it visible for the team, investors, partners, and within our product itself. Katie came to Airfox after almost six years at Boston-based Jana leading user acquisition efforts for the mCent app in emerging markets from India and Indonesia to Brazil and Mexico.
Andrew Wang, VP of Operations
Andrew has worked hand-in-hand with the executive team since joining the company in 2017. While spending much time in negotiations with lawyers, Andrew has kept the day-to-day company functions running smoothly and is continually focused on making the company leaner and more efficient. Andrew has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Chicago.
New hires
In addition, the Airfox team has grown with the following new hires:
Benjamin Higgins, Senior DevOps Engineer
Ben is joining Airfox following a history of DevOps management and AWS Architect roles. At NuoDB, Ben produced a multi container deployment of their database on orchestrated platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS Elastic Container Service, and Docker Swarm. Prior to NuoDB, Ben was responsible for leading the DevOps efforts at Pegasystems, engineering the full-stack platforms for multi-million dollar clients. Ben views DevOps as being a way to “automate incremental improvements”, and is excited for all the new tech challenges that Airfox will allow him to work on.
Bruna Luniere da Costa, User Success Associate
Bruna moved from Brazil to the United States to attend Boston University, where she majored in International Relations — with a focus on Transnational Systems and World Order and Economics. During college, Bruna was the President of the Brazilian Association, co-founder and co-president of the Latin American Student Union, and President of external relations for UN HeforShe’s campaign. Bruna interned for several non-profits in the US and Europe, within Business Development and Foreign Affairs.
Aleksandra Pirog, Product Management Co-op
Aleks is a co-op for our Product team, as she completes her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University. Her past co-ops include quality engineering at Standard Motor Products, designing jet engines at GE, and creating products at Flex Innovation Labs. Aleks is an Army ROTC cadet, and will be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant next spring. She spends her free time rock climbing and enjoying nature.
