Airfox named a finalist for 2020 SXSW Innovation Awards

The awards honor groundbreaking tech developments and industry leaders around the world

The cat’s out of the bag: we’re pleased to announce that Airfox ​has been selected as a finalist for the ​23rd​ annual ​SXSW Innovation Awards​, taking place Monday, March 16 in Austin, TX during the South by Southwest (SXSW®) Conference and Festivals. Airfox was selected by an esteemed panel of SXSW judges for our work redefining the exchange of goods and services, from the sharing economy, to virtual currency, to micro-finance, to mobile-device-payment systems, and beyond.

The SXSW Innovation Awards recognize and celebrate the most exciting tech developments in the connected world. Airfox is a finalist under the​ New Economy category for the groundbreaking financial inclusion efforts we’re making in Latin America through banQi, our mobile-first banking platform.

Airfox’s banQi was one of 65 finalists selected across 13 categories by a panel of judges comprised of industry peers and experts. Each entry was graded on four criteria: creativity, form, function, and overall experience. Airfox will have the opportunity to exhibit our work alongside other finalists at the Innovation Awards Finalist Showcase​.

The Finalist Showcase offers SXSW attendees a first look at the most exciting tech developments, including achievements in AI and machine learning, health technology, robotics and hardware, wearable tech, and virtual and augmented reality, plus a chance to place their votes for the People’s Choice Award. Members of the Airfox executive team look forward to networking with other nominees and SXSW attendees.

The winners in each of the 13 categories, plus additional honors (Best of Show, People’s Choice, the David Carr Prize, and the SXSW Hall of Fame) will be awarded at the 23rd annual SXSW Innovation Awards ​on Monday, March 16, 2020.
