The Airfox team is currently working from home, and we want to recognize some of our newest hires who have fully integrated into their teams even while working remotely.

Airfox’s global team has continued to grow in 2020; our new team members in both Boston and São Paulo are experienced and talented innovators who have already made a huge impact on how we operate.

Finance

Marcelo Ricci — Finance Manager — São Paulo

As our finance manager, Marcelo works on Airfox’s financial planning — overseeing operating revenues and costs and facilitating financial modeling. He also helps reconcile our banQi app’s wallet transactions and works with Airfox’s accountants and tax specialists.

Prior to Airfox, Marcelo worked for our partner Via Varejo in their financial services department. He was responsible for long-term financial planning and worked directly on building the partnership between Airfox and Via Varejo.

When asked why Marcelo chose to come work for Airfox, he answered, “I see great potential in our business, it has a purpose: the financial inclusion of classes C and D. Airfox combines state of the art technology with the huge physical presence of Via Varejo.”

Outside of work, Marcelo is currently studying law at the University of São Paulo and loves watching movies.

Marcelo loves hanging out with friends and traveling abroad.

Business Intelligence

Natasha Menarbino — Business Analyst — Boston

Natasha is one of our most versatile team members. With experience in marketing, business analytics, and customer experience, Natasha’s well-rounded knowledge of the areas of a business allows her to focus on the big picture when designing business solutions.

Here at Airfox, Natasha brings the voice of the customer into the company. She ensures customers’ concerns and suggestions are addressed in order to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

When Natasha heard about Airfox’s mission to help Brazilian communities, she immediately wanted to join the company, “It’s motivating to know all your work is to develop a product that helps thousands of people. Airfox is joining technology and empathy to make the best fintech initiatives accessible to everyone in a friendly and easy way, and this is definitely the company I want to be part of.”

Outside of work, Natasha loves to discover new cultures, people, and places and enjoys photography.

Natasha loves a typical Brazilian barbecue and traveling to new countries.

João Antônio da Matta — Business Analyst — Boston

As a business analyst for Airfox’s payment squad, João Antônio uses data to gather insights that help us improve our product and processes and prioritize initiatives.

Prior to coming to Airfox, João Antônio worked at the software company PTC for five years as a customer success consultant. At PTC, he helped numerous companies improve and streamline their product development and manufacturing processes.

João Antônio holds an electrical engineering degree from Universidade Federal Fluminense and an MBA from Hult International Business School.

When asked why he came to Airfox, João Antônio answered, “I wanted to work at Airfox because I truly believe in what the company is trying to achieve and want to be part of this disruption/revolution. For me, it is very motivating to wake up every single day knowing that what I do is going to have an impact on people’s lives.”

In this free time, João Antônio can be found playing his guitar and playing or watching sports.

João Antônio is a huge fan of Flamengo, a soccer team in Rio de Janeiro, and doesn’t miss a single game.

Product

Hugo Girão — Product Manager — São Paulo

Hugo recently joined Airfox from Latin America’s largest steel company, Gerdau, where he was also a product manager and oversaw digital product management and roadmap creation. Here at Airfox, Hugo heads our customer tribe and creates an integrated experience for our banQi users in the Casas Bahia stores.

After working at Banco Santander for a year, Hugo chose to pursue a full-time MBA at COPPEAD UFRJ. After receiving his degree in 2016, Hugo entered consulting and product management positions at Nielsen and Ame Digital where he gained experience working in the technology industry.

Hugo joined Airfox because he “believes in empowering low-income consumers with access to financial services and credit” and sees Airfox as a sustainable vehicle to do so.

Outside of work, Hugo is the lead singer in a rock band.

Hugo is fascinated by how technology helps people and organizations make better, faster decisions.

People Ops

Bianca Lima — Office Manager — São Paulo

As the office manager of Airfox’s São Paulo office, Bianca makes sure our employees have everything they need to do their best work. She also manages our events and assists HR with the hiring process.

Bianca has been working since she was seventeen, and has five years of experience working in public affairs. She also has a degree in public relations from Universidade Anhembi Morumbi and is currently pursuing a degree in corporate communication at Centro Universitário Senac.

Bianca wanted to come to Airfox because, “Airfox is giving a voice, opportunity, and quality service to so many people. It’s an honor to be part of this team and help to create something bigger.”

In her free time, Bianca is passionate about cinema, music, and pop culture and can often be found watching movies.

Bianca’s favorite thing in the world is watching movies and often goes to the movie theaters.
